What does your State Constitution say?
Maryland
Article 37
No religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a
declaration of belief in the existence of God
GOD boils down to one thing, PROTECTION. we beseech its protection from all the bad things for which it is credited, most frequently Hell and the cruel indifferences of nature. Our greatest fears are of things we cannot control, even God itself, so we resort to plea and submission to an anthropomorphized figment. What could be more irrational?
Theist,
I created this
site as a response to my government telling me that in order to be
a patriotic American I should have a belief in God. It is
also due to the increased frequency of Christians trying to force
Jesus down my throat. Since that usually leads to a lengthy powwow, I can now
direct them to this site if they are really interested about why I do not
believe in the guy in the sky. But best of all, this site will save
me the frustration of putting up with circular logic and word games.
Though, I pick on Christianity in particular, I feel the same about all
religions in general - They are nothing but superstitions wrapped with
false promises and provide phony solutions to make-believe
threats.
Atheist,
What makes this site different from other Atheist
sites is the Activism page.
The Guide on that page provides a strategy on how to be a
successful Church and State Separation Activist. The information
in the guide is time tested and very effective. It is a plan that a single activist
can do to achieve results.
